River Forest is a community of nearly 500 homes located in Laplace, LA just off of West Airline Highway in St. John the Baptist Parish. River Forest of Laplace is one of the oldest and largest subdivisions in the Laplace area. Bordered by Lake Pontchartrain to the north and the Mississippi River to the south, River Forest continues to be one of Laplace's safest and nicest neighborhoods.
Neighbors, some of the River Forest Park's playground equipment that has been ravaged by termites has either fallen or been taken down. There may be a Boy Scout sponsored park clean up planned for the park in the coming weeks. Please check back for more information on that project. We may need to enlist the help of our neighbors in getting the grass cut so if you have a riding lawnmower and would be willing to help us cut the grass, please let us know. We will talk more about this at the upcoming meeting on 3/27/2012
More and more I am seeing a growing number of our neighbors exhibit a total and blatant disregard for the stop signs in our neighborhood. Just because you are late doesn't mean that you get to roll through the stop or just blow through it altogether. This is fair warnding to everyone who is disregarding the stop signs. The Sheriff's department will be making unannounced patrols and will be writing tickets to speeders and stop sign runners very soon.

Your membership helps to pay for the upkeep of the park, the front entrance (which needs it badly) and to sponsor activities for OUR community.
